(2026.05.03 Comfort from the Holy Spirit)
Before people ate the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, they were pure and without sin. But after they ate the fruit, they entered into sin and took on a sinful nature, causing mankind to fall into corruption. Although the human soul lives forever, once it falls into sin, it must bear the penalty of sin, which is everlasting suffering.
Yet sinners were not allowed to eat from the tree of life, because sin and eternal life cannot exist together. God knew that people were weak by nature. They could not overcome sin or resist their sinful desires by their own strength. If they had remained in the Garden of Eden, they might have reached out and eaten from the tree of life and lived forever. If people were to live forever while remaining in sin, they would be separated from God’s life forever. So that people could one day return to the blessed place God had prepared for them, God sent Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden. They temporarily lost the blessings and grace God had given them. They had to bear the consequences of their own sin. They could no longer freely eat from every tree in the garden, nor enjoy a life without trouble or worry. Instead, they came under the power of sin and lived on ground that had been cursed because of sin, spending their days in hard labor and sorrow.
But God loves the world. He provided the atoning sacrifice and freely gave His grace. Through the redemption of the Lord Jesus Christ, He washes away the sins of the world, makes people holy, as though they have been clothed in fine white linen, restores them to a right relationship with Him, and brings them back into His presence. He wants us to understand that our physical body is only a temporary tent. The purpose of our short life on earth is to leave sin behind, pursue holiness, become pure, and enter the beautiful and abundant kingdom that God originally prepared for mankind.
Our first ancestors lost the blessings God had originally given them because they did not obey His command and fell into sin. We should compare our lives with the truth of the Bible, learn what God’s will and commandments are, and wisely avoid sin. We should examine our hearts and the path we are walking to see whether we are following the same corrupt path as our first ancestors. Are we craving the things our eyes see in this world and allowing greed to grow in our hearts? Or are we setting our hearts on the things of heaven and fixing our minds on God? We must clearly understand that the payment for sin is to have no share in the eternal life God gives. How can someone who remains in corruption eat from the tree of life and receive eternal life? Choose the path that leads to eternal life, and no longer walk the way of the world.
God’s thoughts are higher than human thoughts, and His grace is sufficient. We should trust Him and follow His leading. He is the lamp before our feet and the light on our path. If we walk in His light, our spiritual eyes will be opened, and we will be able to see the right direction clearly. By following the path the Lord shows us and never turning away from it, we will never stumble. Then, after finishing the path God has prepared for us, we will remain holy and enter the glorious eternal kingdom of heaven that He has prepared for us.

Chapter 34 Verses 11–14
For thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I, even I, will both search my sheep, and seek them out.
As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.
And I will bring them out from the people, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land, and feed them upon the mountains of Israel by the rivers, and in all the inhabited places of the country.
I will feed them in a good pasture, and upon the high mountains of Israel shall their fold be: there shall they lie in a good fold, and in a fat pasture shall they feed upon the mountains of Israel.
