The Veil Removed, Entering a Real Faith: From Hearing About God to Seeing God with Our Own Eyes

A person who truly belongs to God should live out a genuine faith—being honest in heart, consistent inside and out, fearing God, and living a new life that pleases Him. In the Lord, such a person finds real freedom and is able to truly see the Lord, to see His glory, and to become someone who receives God’s grace through faith. What matters most is that the heart turns back and the mind is changed, rather than living a life that looks religious on the outside but does not truly practice God’s word.

As the apostle Paul wrote in Scripture: whenever the books of Moses are read, a veil still lies over their hearts; but when their hearts turn to the Lord, the veil is taken away.

There are still believers whose hearts are covered by this veil. Their faith stays at the level of outward form—external worship, religious rituals, listening to sermons and receiving teaching, pursuing biblical truth, talking about God, preaching the gospel, and filling their speech with spiritual language. Yet their faith remains only on the surface, what people can see. They honor God with their lips, but their hearts are far from Him. They have the appearance of godliness, but not its true power, and so their lives are not transformed. We must not become Christians whose lives never change.

The veil must be removed. If the veil is not taken away, spiritual life is still not truly in the Lord, and there remains a barrier between us and Him. Even though a person believes in the Lord and is called a Christian, their life remains unchanged, without a real connection to Him. Only when the veil is removed can we truly see God and experience Him in reality.

Those who believe in the Lord and are willing to follow Him must enter into a real faith and receive new life. They must turn back from the heart and live genuinely before God, not before people. The direction of the heart must change—from relying on oneself to relying on the Lord; from self-confidence to acknowledging one’s limitations and weaknesses; from holding onto control to returning authority to God. When a person is illuminated by God’s light and is willing to submit to Him, they will see their inner life renewed and will live out a new life.

By focusing fully on God and being guided by true light, we come to see His holiness and righteousness, as well as His faithfulness, mercy, and love, and the path He leads us on. We move from merely knowing that there is a great, almighty God who rules over all and seems far away, into a life that is united with the Lord.

The Lord Himself holds our hand, and through the leading of the Holy Spirit, we can confidently entrust our entire lives to God. Wherever the Lord leads, we follow closely, letting Him guide the road ahead and walking with Him. When life is lived by relying on the Lord, we no longer remain trapped in weakness, nor do we repeatedly fail in times of testing because we lack a firm foundation. Our hearts are no longer weighed down with constant weariness.

By fixing our eyes on heaven and relying on the help of the Holy Spirit, our inner life is continually renewed, God’s glory is revealed in the lives of believers, and we are gradually shaped into the likeness of the Lord Jesus—moving from hearing about God to seeing God with our own eyes.

Scripture

2 Corinthians

Chapter 3 Verses 15–18

But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.

Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.

Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Isaiah

Chapter 29 Verses 10–13

For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered.

And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed

And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.

Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men

1 Corinthians

Chapter 13 Verses 1–2

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

James

Chapter 3 Verses 14–18

But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.

This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

Ephesians

Chapter 2 Verses 13–16

But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby
