(2025.12.18 — The Encouragement of the Holy Spirit)

The conditions of the end times are dangerous and severe. The unseen spiritual warfare is intense, and we must also pay attention to the changes in the visible world—the corruption of human hearts and the growth of greed. Lawlessness and crime will continue to increase, because the devil is actively corrupting people’s hearts and stealing souls. He sets traps to cause believers to fall, to lose faith, and to turn away from God’s saving grace.

Do not expose yourself to this dangerous world; instead, hide yourself in the Lord. The Father’s authority, power, and love are vast and limitless. He is a faithful God and will surely protect all who trust in Him and walk according to His will.

You must put away an ungodly heart and worldly desires, so that you may receive God’s mercy.

Make God the center of your life and place Him in the most important position. Fear God and submit to His sovereignty. Honor the words God has commanded. Engrave God’s words—the reminders, commandments, and teachings of Scripture—deep in your heart, so that you will not stray or lose your way. Be alert to God’s warnings in response to a world filled with sin; these warnings are meant to call people to repentance, to remind the world not to place its hope in what is temporary. Everything in this world will pass away, but the eternal kingdom of heaven remains. Keep God’s righteous judgment firmly in mind. Be watchful and self-controlled, guarding holiness so that you do not stumble on the path of salvation.

Walk according to God’s will on the path that leads to His kingdom. Confess with your mouth that God is Lord, and let your heart truly honor Him as Lord—do not make yourself the master of your own life. Seek the Lord’s will in every direction you take, and allow the Holy Spirit to lead you, for God has already prepared the road ahead for those who belong to Him. Therefore, when you pray, do not seek the fulfillment of your own will, but the fulfillment of the Lord’s will. Hold God’s word with reverent fear; value it and obey it. An ungodly heart creates openings through which worldly temptations and selfish desires can enter—so you must put away an ungodly heart.

Because their hearts are empty, people chase after the world in search of satisfaction, yet by loving the world they end up destroying their own souls. They live only for this life, with no regard for eternal life to come. The purpose of many people’s lives is simply to satisfy bodily desires—craving wealth, indulging in pleasure, food, and entertainment—being shaped by the world’s values. They pursue the lust of the eyes, longing for worldly glory, outward vanity, fame, status, and wealth. They are drawn to visible things and to what brings human praise. They also chase power and position, longing for recognition and approval from others. This is the pride of life. None of these desires come from the Father.

The world is only temporary. The world and its cravings will pass away. Do not waste your time pursuing things that cannot last forever. Instead, do what pleases God, obey the Father’s will, and pursue what endures eternally in heaven.

Be watchful and self-disciplined, guarding both your heart and your body. Do not rely on your own understanding, and do not trust in human strength. Instead, depend on and fear the Creator—your God. All true wisdom comes from God. Only by receiving wisdom from above can you gain eternal blessing, and this is what you should pursue all your life.

Scripture

Psalms

Chapter 91 Verses 1–11

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High

shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress:

my God; in him will I trust.

Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler,

and from the noisome pestilence.

He shall cover thee with his feathers,

and under his wings shalt thou trust:

his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night;

nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness;

nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

A thousand shall fall at thy side,

and ten thousand at thy right hand;

but it shall not come nigh thee.

Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold

and see the reward of the wicked.

Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge,

even the most High, thy habitation;

There shall no evil befall thee,

neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

For he shall give his angels charge over thee,

to keep thee in all thy ways.

1 John

Chapter 2 Verses 15–17

Love not the world,

neither the things that are in the world.

If any man love the world,

the love of the Father is not in him.

For all that is in the world,

the lust of the flesh,

and the lust of the eyes,

and the pride of life,

is not of the Father,

but is of the world.

And the world passeth away,

and the lust thereof:

but he that doeth the will of God

abideth for ever.

Proverbs

Chapter 3 Verses 1–7

My son, forget not my law;

but let thine heart keep my commandments:

For length of days, and long life,

and peace, shall they add to thee.

Let not mercy and truth forsake thee:

bind them about thy neck;

write them upon the table of thine heart:

So shalt thou find favour and good understanding

in the sight of God and man.

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart;

and lean not unto thine own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge him,

and he shall direct thy paths.

Be not wise in thine own eyes:

fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
