(2026.06.22. Comfort from the Holy Spirit)
Those who were once dead in sins and transgressions have now been set free from the bondage of sin, redeemed by the Lord Jesus, and received salvation. Since we now belong to God, we should make up our minds to live for the Lord. We should have a contented heart when it comes to food and our daily needs, set our minds on the things of the Spirit and the things above, and turn our hearts toward the kingdom of God and the work He has entrusted to us. We should hold firmly to the salvation we have received and walk in the way of truth and holiness.
Since God has freely given us salvation, we should also share this message of salvation with others. The gospel should be preached everywhere, even to the ends of the earth, so that more people may come to know the true God, turn to the Lord Jesus, and receive the salvation He has prepared. This is the responsibility God has entrusted to those who have received His grace, so that His kingdom may come and His will may be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Therefore, after receiving salvation, we should not simply think that being saved is enough. Instead, we should strive to walk in the truth and let our lives bear the fruit of righteousness. We should also care about the souls of others and hope that more people will come to know the true God. Therefore, we should diligently seek to understand the truth and God’s will, and learn spiritual lessons through God’s word and the teachings of the Bible. Some people often read the Bible but only know its words and gain knowledge without truly understanding the truth within it. We should not only hear the word but also put it into practice. By understanding the truth, we can stand firm and not stumble, becoming faithful soldiers of the Lord Jesus. What we preach should not merely be knowledge from the Bible, but the truth that we ourselves truly understand, believe, and practice. Only then can we bear witness for the Lord and correctly preach the gospel that leads people to salvation.
This world lies under the power of the evil one. Many people do not know the true God and are still living in darkness and under the power of the devil. Even some who call themselves believers are still living this way. They still set their minds on the flesh and love the world. They focus on earthly things and find satisfaction in pursuing fame, status, and praise from others. They do not fear God or value His will. Therefore, we should care even more deeply about people’s souls and preach the gospel that leads people to salvation. We hope that those trapped in sin may come to their senses and take hold of the opportunity God has given them to repent, so that their lives may be joined to the Lord Jesus, they may walk on the path of salvation, and become people who fear God, obey His will, and receive His grace and salvation.
We are citizens of the kingdom of heaven. We should not waste the days God has given us on a life of ease and worldly pursuits. Instead, we should always stay watchful and prepare ourselves, become deeply rooted in the truth, stand firm in faith, faithfully obey God’s will, and complete the work He has entrusted to us.
For God is a righteous God. He does not leave the guilty unpunished. In the future, He will surely bring judgment, and everyone will have to give an account to God for what they have done during their life on earth.
Scripture
Colossians
Chapter 3 Verses 1-4
“If then you have been raised with Christ,
seek the things that are above,
where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
Set your minds on things that are above,
not on things that are on earth.
For you have died,
and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
When Christ who is your life appears,
then you also will appear with him in glory.”
Acts
Chapter 1 Verses 5-8
“For John baptized with water,
but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit
not many days from now.”
So when they had come together, they asked him,
“Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?”
He said to them,
“It is not for you to know times or seasons
that the Father has fixed by his own authority.
But you will receive power
when the Holy Spirit has come upon you,
and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem
and in all Judea and Samaria,
and to the end of the earth.”
Ezekiel
Chapter 33 Verses 7-9
“So you, son of man,
I have made a watchman for the house of Israel.
Whenever you hear a word from my mouth,
you shall give them warning from me.
If I say to the wicked,
‘O wicked one, you shall surely die,’
and you do not speak to warn the wicked to turn from his way,
that wicked person shall die in his iniquity,
but his blood I will require at your hand.
But if you warn the wicked to turn from his way,
and he does not turn from his way,
that person shall die in his iniquity,
but you will have delivered your soul.”
