(2026.04.05. The Encouragement of the Holy Spirit)
If a person wants to break free from the power of darkness, he must turn to the Lord. Only then can he receive true freedom. A person who has received true freedom will no longer be controlled by the world in his heart, and he will learn self-control in all things.
He clearly knows that he belongs to God. Although all things may be lawful, not all things are helpful. Therefore, he is able to live according to God’s righteous standard. Anything that harms his spiritual life and causes him to drift away from God must not be done.
If a person has clean hands and a pure heart, fears God, does not allow sin to rule over him, and gives no place to the devil, he will not fall under the devil’s power of accusation. He will also no longer fall under God’s condemnation because of sin. His heart will be clear and without guilt. He will no longer carry the heavy burden of sin or live every day in fear and unrest. His soul will receive true freedom.
Only those who leave the world, do not belong to the world, and become people who overcome the world will no longer live under the power of the evil one. When a person does not conform to this world, his heart will no longer be bound by sin. He will no longer follow evil desires and passions, nor live according to the lusts of the flesh. He will no longer let evil thoughts come out of his heart and lead him to do things such as greed, deceit, dishonesty, strife, and hatred. He will be set free from the bondage of sin.
To overcome the world means that while a person lives on earth, he no longer keeps company with the devil, no longer obeys the devil, and no longer indulges the evil desires and passions of the flesh. Instead, he obeys the Lord, depends on the Lord to overcome sin, lives a holy life, and walks on the path of righteousness.
He also holds fast to God’s word, walks on the path of sanctification, and keeps moving upward until he has made himself ready. When the Lord comes again, those who have received grace, been kept by the Lord, had their lives renewed, and have righteous deeds will be given bright and clean fine linen by the Lord, so that they may take part in the marriage supper of the Lamb.
This fine linen is the garment worn by the saints. It enables a person to enter the kingdom of God and joyfully enter eternal life. You must prepare yourself for the coming of that day.
Who can overcome the devil and overcome this world? Who can avoid being swept away by the flood that comes from the dragon’s mouth, avoid being deceived by the deception that comes from the beast’s mouth, and avoid falling into the deception of idolatry? Who can avoid being misled by the false prophets who preach teachings that turn people away from the truth and cannot save them?
It is the person who has been washed clean by the precious blood of the Lord and has been declared righteous by the Lord. It is the person who has also been cleansed by the truth, walks on the path of righteousness, has his life continually renewed through the Lord’s word, bears the fruit of righteousness, lives out a true faith, and has a heart that belongs to the Lord.
Such a person continues to hold fast to his faith even in suffering. In persecution, he does not compromise with the world or with the power of the devil. He would rather lose everything in this world than do anything that sins against God. He remains faithful to the Lord to the end. Such a person is able to resist the devil and overcome through the Lord.
Therefore, in these last days, people must stay awake, hold fast to the true word, stand firm in their faith in God, not follow the world, not fall into deception, and walk on the path of righteousness. Then, when the Lord comes again, they will be able to stand firm, face God with confidence and without fear, and enter eternal life.
Scripture
Revelation
Chapter 12 Verses 7–11
And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
1 John
Chapter 3 Verse 7
Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
Isaiah
Chapter 61 Verse 10
I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
Revelation
Chapter 19 Verses 7–8
Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
