(2026.03.15 — The Encouragement of the Holy Spirit)

When a person is weak and their faith falls into a low point, they should remember God’s salvation. God opened our eyes among all people, allowing us to hear the gospel and receive the grace of the Lord’s redemption. We should remember the Lord’s mercy—how He redeemed us at a great price with His precious blood, rescuing us from the power of the world and the devil, freeing us from sin and from the outcome that sin deserves. We should also remember how God has guided us to walk on the path of peace, hold firmly to His promises, and value the ultimate goal of life, which is to receive eternal life.

Now that we belong to the Lord, we must not turn back or return to our former life of pursuing the world and living in sin. Our days on earth are limited, so we should enter into God’s love early and enjoy the peace and joy that the Lord gives. We must also value our spiritual identity, guard our souls, and live in a way that matches who we are as Christians. We should no longer follow ungodly desires or do things that do not please God. If a person turns away from God’s way and His Spirit is not in them, they will live according to the ways of this world, giving in to fleshly desires and living only for their own thoughts and physical pleasures under the sun, falling into a life that brings God’s anger.

The path of faith is a continuous journey toward holiness. A person should often examine their spiritual condition, recognize their weaknesses, and regularly cleanse themselves, just like washing their garments, so that their soul remains pure. We must throw off the burdens of sin that weigh us down, exhaust us, and drain our lives—removing greed for worldly things, selfish desires, and a heart that does not know or fear God. When a person cleanses a heart that was once filled with the world, it will no longer be disturbed or bound by it, and they can find rest in the Lord. Then we store God’s righteousness, truth, and teachings in our hearts, so that in this evil and tempting generation, we can still hold onto the truth and overcome sin.

In this present life, we must be watchful and self-controlled in all things. What we think, what we say, and what we do must all be done with care. We should always follow the Lord’s teachings and live a godly life. We must not turn back, because salvation is truly precious. We must never return to a life without God’s presence—a life of the flesh and sin—so that we do not lose our share in the kingdom of heaven, become empty in life, and face judgment. We must also not allow our faith to decline or go backward. If a person does not spend time in spiritual devotion, does not pursue the truth, and does not keep the Lord’s word in their heart, they will easily fall back and head toward destruction. To receive the reward in heaven, we must diligently walk the path of the kingdom. Every step we take should move us closer to the goal and closer to the Lord, until we are ready and waiting for the Lord Jesus to bring us home.

Scripture

Ephesians
Chapter 2 Verses 1-8
“And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world,
according to the prince of the power of the air,
the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past
in the lusts of our flesh,
fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind;
and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
But God, who is rich in mercy,
for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Even when we were dead in sins,
hath quickened us together with Christ,
by grace ye are saved;
And hath raised us up together,
and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
That in the ages to come
he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace
in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God:”

Titus
Chapter 2 Verses 11-14
“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation
hath appeared to all men,
Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts,
we should live soberly, righteously, and godly,
in this present world;
Looking for that blessed hope,
and the glorious appearing of the great God
and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Who gave himself for us,
that he might redeem us from all iniquity,
and purify unto himself a peculiar people,
zealous of good works.”

Hebrews
Chapter 10 Verses 38-39
“Now the just shall live by faith:
but if any man draw back,
my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition;
but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.”

Psalm
Chapter 78 Verses 56-58
“Yet they tempted and provoked the most high God,
and kept not his testimonies:
But turned back, and dealt unfaithfully like their fathers:
they were turned aside like a deceitful bow.
For they provoked him to anger with their high places,
and moved him to jealousy with their graven images.”

Hebrews
Chapter 12 Verse 1
“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about
with so great a cloud of witnesses,
let us lay aside every weight,
and the sin which doth so easily beset us,
and let us run with patience
the race that is set before us,”
