The days of a person’s life under the sun are all in God’s hands. You do not know when you were born, nor do you know when you will leave this world. A person’s life may be long or short; from youth to old age, from strength and good health to sickness and decline. No matter what, the days a person lives are limited. Therefore, you should think carefully about what is truly worth pursuing early in life, and what will truly benefit you and remain forever. For if certain things are not pursued while you are young, then when your age increases, your eyesight grows dim, and your body becomes weak, it will be difficult to still have the strength to seek God wholeheartedly.

While you are still young and full of strength, before worries and sorrows increase, before the days without joy come, and before your body begins to fail, remember the one true God in heaven. He is the God who created you. His love is exceedingly great. Your life came from Him and remains in His hands. He is the God who gives grace. Every good thing a person receives, whether on earth or in heaven to come, comes from God. Everything is in His hands, and all things are accomplished according to His will.

Human life comes from God. When the days on earth come to an end, the spirit returns to the God who gave it. Therefore, people should come to know God early in life and enjoy the grace, peace, and joy that He gives. Do not be like those who do not know God, whose eyes are blinded by the evil one of this world, whose hearts become hardened, and who forget the God who created them and forget where they came from. They also cannot clearly see the final outcome of life. Yet this is connected to how a person lives in this life and whether they follow God’s will. Therefore, people should earnestly pursue spiritual growth, seek to know God, and understand His will.

Do not wait until you are suffering in darkness and facing troubles before you repent and awaken to seek God. Do not wait until old age and physical weakness before you begin seeking Him. When a person’s legs grow weak, teeth fall out, eyes grow dim, vision fades, hearing declines, sleep becomes light and short, the body is filled with pain and sickness, and movement becomes difficult, how can there still be enough strength and time to pursue the truth wholeheartedly? And how can a person fully serve God then?

Do not waste the best years of your life chasing after the world and enjoying material things, while failing to enjoy the days the Lord has given you, walking together with Him, living in His grace and presence, and being kept by His care.

From the moment life begins, the body is already moving toward decline and the end of earthly life. Therefore, while you still have strength and energy, remember your Creator and seek the things in life that are more meaningful and of eternal value. For the human body will eventually weaken, and life will eventually come to an end. Man was made from dust, and dust will return to the earth, while the spirit returns to God. The wealth, power, status, fame, and knowledge of this world will all pass away, and everything will become empty in the end.

What people ought to do is to fear God during their limited days on earth, obey His words, become children who please Him, enjoy the blessings He gives, and prepare to enter His kingdom in the future. Only then does life have eternal value.

Ecclesiastes
Chapter 12 Verses 1-8

“Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth,
while the evil days come not,
nor the years draw nigh,
when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;

While the sun, or the light,
or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened,
nor the clouds return after the rain:

In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble,
and the strong men shall bow themselves,
and the grinders cease because they are few,
and those that look out of the windows be darkened,

And the doors shall be shut in the streets,
when the sound of the grinding is low,
and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird,
and all the daughters of musick shall be brought low;

Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high,
and fears shall be in the way,
and the almond tree shall flourish,
and the grasshopper shall be a burden,
and desire shall fail:
because man goeth to his long home,
and the mourners go about the streets:

Or ever the silver cord be loosed,
or the golden bowl be broken,
or the pitcher be broken at the fountain,
or the wheel broken at the cistern.

Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was:
and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

all is vanity.”

Chapter 9 Verse 10

“Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do,
do it with thy might;
for there is no work,
nor device,
nor knowledge,
nor wisdom,
in the grave,
whither thou goest.”

2 Corinthians
Chapter 4 Verse 18

“While we look not at the things which are seen,
but at the things which are not seen:
for the things which are seen are temporal;
but the things which are not seen are eternal.”

Spend time to speak with God from your heart and ask Him to fill you with the Holy Spirit.

Conclude your prayer with, “Amen.”
