During the years of your life, while you are still living, what do you truly value? What is the goal of your life? What are you pursuing? After you have come to know God, what is your life really depending on to go on living?

If you have received the gospel of salvation, then do not go back to living the old days without God. Do not rely on human ability, do not trust in human power, and do not depend on wealth. You are chosen, you belong to God, and your life is led by the Lord, who arranges your path. Everything God allows will surely come to pass; and whatever God does not allow, even if it seems gained for a moment, will eventually be lost. For the time appointed by God will surely come—it is not delayed. All people must know God’s authority: everything is under the Almighty. When God takes away, He takes away; when God adds, He adds. All who dwell on the earth must acknowledge God’s great power.

Those who have strayed from the right path must quickly turn back. Those who have turned away from God’s commandments must awaken in their hearts. Do not remain foolish; do not rely on your own understanding. Human beings are nothing but dust—how can they rely on themselves? Do not trust in things made by human hands, for these will surely be destroyed. As for false gods and idols in the heart—who can save you from disaster or deliver you from danger?

Those who claim to belong to God, who say they are chosen, who profess faith, who say they are in covenant with God—if they still practice unrighteousness, refuse to obey God, and remain in sin without repentance, they ought to be afraid. Having the identity of a Christian while lacking a life that truly fears God is not pleasing to Him. Everyone must deeply examine their own thoughts and actions.

Judgment will begin with the household of God. Never think that you stand firm on your own. If you remain in unrighteousness, without genuine repentance, still defiled and unholy, you will not be accepted. Since you have received the Lord’s redemption and entered into covenant with God, you must submit and allow God to be the Lord of your life. Obey the Lord’s teachings, put away unrighteousness, and place your life under God’s authority. You must also take responsibility for the covenant you have made with the Lord. When the time comes, the Lord will faithfully keep His promise and receive you into the kingdom of eternal life. Do not think that you can continue living in sin, disobeying God, and still be saved. If, through a moment of carelessness, you are tempted by sin, grow weak, fall, and stray from the right path, you must still turn back. Otherwise, the judgment you will bear in the future will be more severe than that of those who do not believe.

You must constantly draw near to God and learn the Lord’s commandments. Do not become someone who knows God yet continues to go their own way. Reflect on God’s works, reflect on His almighty power, turn back in your heart, and walk in the path that pleases the Lord.

Only the one true God can save people, sustain them, carry their lives, weaknesses, and burdens. He is the God who has the power to keep you from the womb to old age. You must take refuge in Him and live in reverent fear of Him.

Scripture

Job

Chapter 1 Verses 21–22

And said,

Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither:

the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away;

blessed be the name of the LORD.

In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

Daniel

Chapter 4 Verses 30–35, 37

The king spake, and said,

Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom

by the might of my power, and for the honor of my majesty?

While the word was in the king’s mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying,

O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken;

The kingdom is departed from thee.

And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field:

they shall make thee eat grass as oxen,

and seven times shall pass over thee,

until thou know that the most High rule in the kingdom of men,

and give it to whomsoever he will.

The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar:

and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen,

and his body was wet with the dew of heaven,

till his hairs were grown like eagles’ feathers,

and his nails like birds’ claws.

And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven,

and mine understanding returned unto me,

and I blessed the most High,

and I praised and honored him that liveth for ever,

whose dominion is an everlasting dominion,

and his kingdom is from generation to generation:

And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing:

and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven,

and among the inhabitants of the earth:

and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?

Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honor the King of heaven,

all whose works are truth, and his ways of judgment:

and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.

Isaiah

Chapter 46 Verses 1–10

Bel boweth down, Nebo stoopeth,

their idols were upon the beasts, and upon the cattle:

your carriages were heavy loaden; they are a burden to the weary beast.

They stoop, they bow down together;

they could not deliver the burden,

but themselves are gone into captivity.

Hearken unto me, O house of Jacob,

and all the remnant of the house of Israel,

which are borne by me from the belly,

which are carried from the womb:

And even to your old age I am he;

and even to hoar hairs will I carry you:

I have made, and I will bear;

even I will carry, and will deliver you.

To whom will ye liken me, and make me equal,

and compare me, that we may be like?

They lavish gold out of the bag,

and weigh silver in the balance,

and hire a goldsmith;

and he maketh it a god:

they fall down, yea, they worship.

They bear him upon the shoulder, they carry him,

and set him in his place, and he standeth;

from his place shall he not remove:

yea, one shall cry unto him, yet can he not answer,

nor save him out of his trouble.

Remember this, and shew Yourselves, men:

Bringing it again to mind, O ye transgressors.

Remember the former things of old:

for I am God, and there is none else;

I am God, and there is none like me,

Declaring the end from the beginning,

and from ancient times the things that are not yet done,

saying, My counsel shall stand,

and I will do all my pleasure.
