(2025.12.23 — The Encouragement of the Holy Spirit)
You are to give thanks to the Lord Jesus with all your heart, and praise and thank your God with your mouth;
God is exceedingly great—He is before all things, before creation itself; His years have no end and last forever;
God’s kingdom is righteous and upright; all authority and all dominion belong to Him forever;
God is the Almighty; He rules over everything—heaven and earth were created by God, and humanity was created by God; how could anyone not be humble before You, how could anyone not fear You;
People of the world are foolish—they do not know that all things exist because of You, nor do they realize that You uphold all things by the word of Your power, allowing everything to continue; the new heaven and new earth have not yet come because many are still living in sin and have not yet been saved; You remember human weakness and still grant time, giving people the opportunity to repent and turn back to You;
Yet heaven and earth are like a garment that grows old—they are not eternal and will one day come to an end and pass away; that day will come unexpectedly, and no one can predict it;
This rebellious generation is full of unrighteousness, and God’s righteous judgment will surely come; mountains and rivers are shaken and removed, floods arrive, and some places are submerged and destroyed; all these things show that the end of all things is near;
God is a faithful and righteous God—though the world is filled with injustice, He still uses His word to cleanse those who are willing to be taught, willing to hold fast to the truth, and willing to walk in the path of righteousness as His people; He sets His people apart from this sinful world, treats those who repent and turn to Him with mercy and lovingkindness, and does not repay with punishment those who love Him and fear Him;
Blessed are those who hear the way of salvation of the kingdom of heaven; the prophecies of Scripture, when compared with what is happening now, clearly show that God’s word is true and trustworthy; having received the truth, people must be careful to hold fast to it, remain watchful over their faith, lest they be deceived by others and by Satan, swept away by the flood of the world without realizing it, and thus stray from the true way;
Seek your Savior, Jesus Christ, and make God your God; for He can grant you eternal blessing—He is the source of your life and the source of your joy;
Love righteousness and hate evil; treasure righteousness, for it is the standard of God’s judgment and concerns the salvation of the soul; therefore choose righteousness, pursue righteousness, and live it out—whether in what you think in your heart or what you do in your actions, always stand on the side of righteousness;
Hate sin and regard it as something shameful; reject sin, break away from it, and no longer associate with it; do not judge by the knowledge and trends of the world, but take God’s truth as your standard; it is better to suffer loss and yield than to commit injustice; treat others with love, yet never compromise with sin;
Those who turn back to God and trust in the Lord should give thanks to the Lord Jesus with all their heart, and praise and thank their God with their mouth; God anoints our heads with oil, heals our sins, turns our sorrow into joy, and gives us life through His life so that death no longer reigns; He gives us hope even in tribulation; He pours out the Holy Spirit within us, granting us power to overcome the world, cross hardships and obstacles, and bring the trials we face to completion; how wonderful is God’s love—the grace He gives us is abundant, exceeding all that we ask or imagine;
O God, we will spend our whole lives giving thanks and praise for Your salvation, looking to You with all our hearts, loving You, fearing You, and dwelling in Your house all the days of our lives, forever.
Scripture
Hebrews
Chapter 1 Verses 1–3, 9–12
God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;
And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.
Psalms
Chapter 23 Verses 1–6
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
