(2025.11.20 The Encouragement of the Holy Spirit)
Adam, the first man, sinned, and through his sin, sin entered the world; death came upon all people because of sin, and the whole human race fell under the power of sin and death. No one can escape sin, and no one can avoid death. The God who created mankind originally intended to give humans eternal life, but because of sin, people were separated from God. Holiness and unholiness cannot unite, so humans lost the life-connection with God.
God loves the world, and in order to save sinners from falling into death, He gave Himself and was nailed to the cross in place of all people, bearing the punishment for their sins. He personally became the Lamb of atonement. Through His death, He destroyed the devil who holds the power of death and broke the authority of death. But you must understand this: the devil cannot control a person’s life or death; it only holds the power of death through sin. Throughout their lives, humans face the fear of death. The devil takes advantage of human weakness, using fear and the dread of death to make people worship it for the sake of “peace.” The devil blinds the eyes of people’s hearts, making them believe only what they see or what they can hold in their hands. So they strive desperately after the world, worship what their own hands have made, and become foolish, not realizing that the temporary benefits they gain will eventually be exchanged for eternal destruction.
The devil’s work is to entice people into sin, and through sin, bring them into death and punishment, using sin to accuse them. It creates a false beauty in the world, tempting people with the desires of the flesh and the lust of the eyes. It misleads people into treating the achievements of this life as ultimate satisfaction, deceiving their hearts, leading them away from God, making them ignore the salvation God has given, and turning them toward pursuing the world, thus losing the chance to be sanctified while living on earth. The devil’s goal is to keep people from entering eternal life and cause them to perish together with it.
Do not let your heart be stirred by the world. Do not become friendly with the devil. Do not worship it or follow it, for it brings you no benefit. Do not let yourself fall into the trap of sin. Therefore, I warn you: do not be deceived by the material world. You must earnestly pray for spiritual wisdom. With fear and trembling, be cautious with every step you take. Do not step in the wrong direction, lest you remain trapped in sin and eventually face spiritual death and eternal punishment in hell.
Each day, you must give thanks to the God who created you, keeping God’s salvation in your heart so you never forget His blessings. Set your mind on things above. Pursue the truth of Scripture. Pay close attention to the word you have heard—the word that brings salvation and leads to eternal life. Let My words dwell in your heart. Strive to become strong and overcome the evil one, lest your love for Me turn into love for the world, swept away by the flood of this world, and ending with a fate even more tragic than those who do not believe.
Remember the Lord’s death. When God first created mankind, He gave them honor and glory. But because of sin, people lost God’s glory and became defiled, shameful, and trapped under the power of death. He has given all people the opportunity to be reborn and receive eternal life, freeing them from the fear of death and from the bondage of sin and darkness. The Lord brings people into the glory He originally prepared, restoring the rightful honor and eternal life that belong to God’s children. Death is no longer the end for God’s children; the death of the body is not the final point, but the waiting moment before entering the glorious heavenly kingdom.
Scripture
Romans
Chapter 5 Verse 12
“Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin,
and so death spread to all men because all sinned.”
James
Chapter 1 Verses 13–15
“Let no one say when he is tempted, ‘I am being tempted by God,’
for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one.
But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire.
Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin,
and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.”
Hebrews
Chapter 2 Verses 14–15
“Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood,
he himself likewise partook of the same things,
that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil,
and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery.”
John
Chapter 11 Verses 25–26
“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life.
Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live,
and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.
Do you believe this?’”
