(Prayer to receive the Lord’s words on August 8, 2025)
The flesh is a temporary tent in which we dwell. Because of the sin of one man, all must bear the burdens of life in this world—the toil, the decay of the flesh, and ultimately death. The material world will also perish, so do not set your mind on the things of the flesh, for they cannot give you eternal blessings.
Instead, seek the eternal blessings of heaven. Focus on the things above that can save your soul. You must understand that the flesh is marked by sin, and its final end is death.
Because of the sins of the world, I came into this world, taking on the likeness of sinful flesh to atone for the sins of many, so that you might enter eternal life. Do not wastefully reject this grace.
Do not become a person who lives for the flesh. Do not spend your time and energy on fleshly matters—on eating and drinking to satisfy your hunger or on adorning your outward appearance. You may eat and drink well for the sake of the body, or dress beautifully to make the flesh look attractive, but what good will these things bring you in the end? To live according to the flesh is to belong to the devil, to be My enemy, and it is something I do not delight in.
You were born with nothing, and when your life in this world is over, what lasting benefit can you take with you? When the body dies, it returns to dust, and you take nothing with you—except the results of how you have lived. At the final judgment, those results will determine whether you are counted righteous or unrighteous. My desire is that you take with you the righteous fruit you have borne in this life through your efforts for the salvation of your soul.
Have you ever considered planning for the eternal home of your soul? Have you thought about working for its health and beauty? Do not waste your time and energy on useless things. Instead, give your attention to the matters that lead to eternal life for your soul. Ask yourself—Is my spirit well fed? Is it beautiful in God’s eyes?
You never forget to feed your body each day, but what about the soul within you? Each day you should receive the spiritual food from heaven—My Word, the truth of the Scriptures—so that your spirit will never thirst or hunger. This will make your spirit strong and healthy, so that it will not be lured into sin by the devil of this world because of the weakness and hunger of the flesh. Care about whether your spirit is clothed in holy white and adorned in purity. Keep My commandments, diligently practice My Word, and bear the righteous fruit of the Holy Spirit, so that you may be worthy of citizenship in the holy nation and enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
Therefore, do not waste your years running after the flesh or focusing on earthly matters. Those who live for the flesh are of the earth, belong to the devil, and their lives will end in sighs of regret, with all their efforts proving empty.
I want to give you eternal life, the hope of heaven, and everlasting blessings. The wise choose what is truly worthwhile and will bring eternal benefit. Strive to break free from the bondage of sin. By the power of the Holy Spirit, put off your sinful nature and put to death the deeds of the flesh. Then your life will no longer be meaningless or like chasing after the wind, but will have real hope. You will rejoice when the days of the flesh are over, for you will be ready to enter a far better kingdom. Labor now for what is to come.
Do not set your mind on the flesh. If you focus on fleshly things, your heart will remain tied to this world, wasting your life on worldly pursuits, and the end will be death. Set your mind on the Spirit, and you will receive eternal life and peace. May you understand My will, fix your heart on the heavenly home, bear much fruit of righteousness, and grow in holiness and perfection, doing what pleases Me. Abundant grace, mercy, and love will be poured out on those who live by the Spirit—those I dearly love.
Scripture
Romans
Chapter 8 Verses 5-8, 10, 13-14
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh,
but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
For to set the mind on the flesh is death,
but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.
For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God,
for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot.
Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
… But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin,
the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
… For if you live according to the flesh you will die,
but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
John
Chapter 6 Verses 27-29, 31-35, 37-39
Do not work for the food that perishes,
but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you.
For on him God the Father has set his seal.
Then they said to him, “What must we do, to be doing the works of God?”
Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”
… Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written,
‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’”
Jesus then said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you,
it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven,
but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven.
For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
They said to him, “Sir, give us this bread always.”
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life;
whoever comes to me shall not hunger,
and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.
… All that the Father gives me will come to me,
and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.
For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will
but the will of him who sent me.
And this is the will of him who sent me,
that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day.
Colossians
Chapter 1 Verses 9-17
And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you,
asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will
in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,
so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him,
bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.
May you be strengthened with all power,
according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy,
giving thanks to the Father,
who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.
He has delivered us from the domain of darkness
and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son,
in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible,
whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—
all things were created through him and for him.
And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
