(The Encouragement of the Holy Spirit, August 27, 2025)
Build the temple of God with effort, using materials that are solid and cannot be destroyed. This temple is your own self, so you must pay attention to how you build it.
Build on the foundation of Christ, the source of life. Use the truth and the teachings of the Bible to strengthen your spiritual life. Then, no matter how your environment changes, whether you face trials or temptations from the devil, you can guard your heart with the truth, gain victory, keep your faith unshaken, and hold on to the hope of the heavenly home.
In this way, your spiritual building will keep growing higher, standing firm through trials. Trials will prove and confirm you, making you skilled in righteousness and strong in faith.
A spiritual life must remain clean and not be stained by sin. Do not do what I see as unjust. If you keep letting sin defile you without repentance, you are destroying your own spiritual life and tearing down the work I want to build.
Do not abandon the building halfway. Do not waste the ground and become useless, for such will be destroyed in the end.
Instead, build with the pure truth, making the structure firm and complete, bearing the stature of Christ and reflecting My likeness, becoming holy and perfect.
On the day of judgment, each person will receive according to what they have built in this life. Will your work be like wood, hay, and straw that are easily burned away? Or will it be like gold, silver, and precious stones that last forever?
I desire for you to build what endures forever—heavenly works that bring eternal reward: the inheritance of the Kingdom of Heaven and the crown of glory.
Scripture
1 Corinthians
Chapter 3 Verse 17
“If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him.
For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.”
1 Corinthians
Chapter 3 Verses 12-14
“Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw—
each one’s work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it,
because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done.
If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward.”
Romans
Chapter 2 Verses 6-10
“He will render to each one according to his works:
to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life;
but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury.
There will be tribulation and distress for every human being who does evil, the Jew first and also the Greek,
but glory and honor and peace for everyone who does good, the Jew first and also the Greek.”
