What is your goal in life?

Are you willing to let go of the empty glory of this world, make up your mind, and set your goal on following the Lord Jesus wholeheartedly, so that one day you may enter eternal life and receive eternal blessings, moving forward on the path that leads to the kingdom of heaven?

Everyone should examine their own heart and look back on the path they have taken. What are you living for, and what have you gained along the way? Are you following the Lord wholeheartedly, with your eyes becoming clearer and clearer, able to see the hope of the kingdom of heaven, so that your faith in God remains firm and unshaken? Are you still running toward eternal life, without coming to a standstill or turning away from the path of truth and heading in the wrong direction?

Make sure your faith is genuine, able to stand God’s examination, and that you become someone who is pleasing to God. Do not merely have the outward appearance of a devout Christian, confessing with your mouth that you believe in the Lord while failing to truly put His teachings into practice, still pursuing the world and loving the things of the world. Nor should you follow your faith without understanding, following what people say, keeping your eyes only on people instead of looking to God, acting according to human ideas without seeking God’s will.

A person should have a humble heart, desire wisdom from above, and have a heart that seeks the truth. Every day, follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit, study the Bible, and do not depart from God’s teachings. Let the truth be the standard for how you live and act, and examine whether you are walking in God’s righteousness and obeying the will of the Lord Jesus.

If a person regularly studies the Bible and uses the truth to examine every teaching they receive, they will not easily be deceived by the devil or be swayed back and forth by what people say. They will be able to discern which teachings come from God, which come from human ideas, and which may even contain false teachings. Never begin to worship a person because of their position, reputation, or the authority God has given them. Your heart should look to God, not to people.

Only by following the Lord Jesus wholeheartedly and holding firmly to the faith can you come to know God more and more and understand His righteousness. Then the path you walk will not go astray, and you will be able to live the life of a righteous person, glorify God, and bear all kinds of righteous fruit.

Make sure that you are still holding firmly to the true faith you believe in and have not left the saving grace of the Lord Jesus. Do not let temporary weakness cause you to turn away from God, depart from His will, or give up your goal of pursuing eternal life. The path you walk should gradually lead you out of the bondage of the world and the control of sin, so that the road ahead becomes brighter and easier to walk. With every step, draw closer and closer to God, so that your life will not be lived in vain, but that each day you may live according to God’s will and live a life that is pleasing to Him.

Scripture

Proverbs
Chapter 4 Verses 25-27

Let thine eyes look right on,
and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.

Ponder the path of thy feet,
and let all thy ways be established.

Turn not to the right hand nor to the left:
remove thy foot from evil.

Hebrews
Chapter 12 Verses 1-2

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses,
let us lay aside every weight,
and the sin which doth so easily beset us,
and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;
who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross,
despising the shame,
and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Psalms
Chapter 143 Verses 8-10

Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning;
for in thee do I trust:
cause me to know the way wherein I should walk;
for I lift up my soul unto thee.

Deliver me, O LORD, from mine enemies:
I flee unto thee to hide me.

Teach me to do thy will;
for thou art my God:
thy spirit is good;
lead me into the land of uprightness.
