(2026.06.05. Comfort from the Holy Spirit)
The path of faith is a path that we must continue walking to the end by faith, while holding firmly to hope in our hearts. Without faith, no one can come before God or share in the blessing of eternal life that the Lord gives. From ancient times until now, those who have pleased God have been those who followed Him by faith.
In the past, Abraham had never seen God with his own eyes. When God called him to leave his country, his people, and his father’s household and go to the land God would show him, and promised to bless him and his descendants, Abraham did not doubt. Instead, he obeyed God’s leading by faith, left the place where he had been living, and set out on the path God had prepared for him. Along the way, he lived a life centered on God. Wherever he moved his tent, he built an altar to God and worshiped Him, and he continued moving in the direction God showed him.
Today, God also calls people to walk this same path of faith. He brings the hope of eternal life and the gospel of the kingdom of heaven to all people on earth so that they may receive His promise. He calls people to live upright and righteous lives in this present life because of their hope in the kingdom of heaven, until they enter their heavenly home.
God is Spirit. Although people cannot see Him with their physical eyes, they can experience His presence. In the time of the apostles in the New Testament, God gave the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit came upon them, they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, tongues like flames of fire appeared, and they began to speak in other languages. God poured out the Holy Spirit in the time of the apostles, and today He likewise gives the Holy Spirit to those who seek Him and ask Him. In this evil generation, the Holy Spirit is the Helper of believers, helping and guiding them to understand the truth and walk according to God’s will. The Holy Spirit also intercedes for believers according to God’s will, so that they do not ask for things wrongly and can continue walking on the path that pleases God. Therefore, when believers receive the Holy Spirit given by God, their tongues speak in other languages during prayer, enabling them to testify that God truly exists.
Not only does the Holy Spirit testify about God, but the Bible is also the Word inspired by God. It records God’s works throughout the generations and the truth He has revealed to the world. From the foreshadowing in the Old Testament to its fulfillment in the New Testament, and even to the corruption of people’s hearts, disasters, plagues, and wars we see today, all these show that God’s Word is true and trustworthy. They help people understand that the day of the Lord’s return is near and that this day will surely come. Through His Word, God continually reminds people to repent, because His desire is to save sinners and deliver people from death.
When God calls us, are we willing to follow Him by faith, hold firmly to His promises, and neither doubt nor turn back? Are we willing to leave the path of sin and corruption, no longer love the world or follow the desires of the flesh, but obey God’s will and move toward the kingdom of eternal life under the guidance of the Holy Spirit? Just as Abraham obeyed God’s leading by faith and lived a God-centered life with God’s presence, we should also follow Him in faith. The path God has prepared for us is a path filled with grace and blessing that leads to eternal life. We must hold firmly to the true faith until the end, so that one day we may enter our heavenly home and receive the inheritance of the kingdom of heaven that God has promised.
