(2026.03.07. The Encouragement of the Holy Spirit)
What is a truly successful life? As children of God, we should understand that the success God recognizes is different from the success people in the world think of. People in the world think that having a house, a car, a family, children, a good job, a successful career, power, and status means being blessed. But all these things are only temporary things in this life. This kind of success is not real success. What people see before their eyes and hold in their hands will all change with the passing of time and changing circumstances. Even when a person is enjoying happiness, life may suddenly come to an end at any moment. What the world sees as success is only temporary emptiness in God’s eyes. Human life is extremely short. When a person’s days on earth come to an end, everything they had in this life also passes away. All the worldly things a person possesses in this life cannot last forever. Nor will they be remembered for long.
A person should turn the focus of life around, changing from pursuing the world to longing for eternal life. For a believer to have a truly successful life, it begins with knowing God. When a person understands the truth and walks on the path of righteousness, their life can truly change. Their focus turns from looking at the material world with shallow and short-sighted eyes to seeing the eternal kingdom of heaven with spiritual eyes. Before, they did not know that there is one true God in heaven who rules over all things. They did not treat God as God, but made themselves their own master, and with worldly wisdom that they thought was clever, they chased after what they believed was a successful life. But when a person turns to seek God and receives wisdom from Him, they begin to understand that only through the Lord Jesus can they have a truly successful life. Then the direction of their life is changed. They leave the wrong path and begin to walk on the upright path that pleases God, moving toward a truly successful life.
If a person wants to be a child of God, they should live according to the Lord’s will and keep God’s commandments. The treasures a person stores up in heaven while living on earth will remain forever. God’s mercy also gives new life to a life that was once dead and without hope. In the Lord, a person receives God’s rich love and care and enjoys heavenly blessings. Life no longer stops at this present world, but continues into eternity and becomes part of the holy people of the kingdom of heaven.
If a person wants to have a successful life, their life must be connected to the Lord. From the days they live on earth, they should follow the Lord and rely on Him, allowing the Holy Spirit to guide their life and lead them on the path of righteousness. They should live a life that God sees as good, upright, valuable, and not empty. By relying on the Lord, being born from God, following the example of the Lord Jesus, and living out the pattern of a new life, they should press on in walking the path of the kingdom of heaven, so that they may become holy and blameless people. They should live a life that overcomes the world. Not only will they receive God’s mercy and care in this life, but through the Lord’s love, their spiritual life in this present life will also become abundant. And when the time of resurrection comes, they will be with the Lord, enter God’s glorious kingdom, and enjoy everlasting blessing.
Scripture
Joshua
Chapter 1 Verse 8
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night,
that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein:
for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”
Matthew
Chapter 6 Verse 33
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;
and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Matthew
Chapter 6 Verses 19-21
“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt,
and where thieves break through and steal:
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt,
and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”
Proverbs
Chapter 11 Verses 4-7
“Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.
The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.
When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perisheth.”
