When we look at Enoch’s life, we should also think deeply about our own lives. In his time, many people lived to be eight or nine hundred years old, but Enoch lived only three hundred and sixty-five years. Yet while many people of that time eventually died, Enoch did not experience death, because God took him away. He walked with God for three hundred years, spending most of his life on earth walking with Him.
We should think deeply about this: What can we truly gain in the end from everything we pursue in this life?
Our days on earth begin with the joy of birth, but little by little, we move toward old age, sickness, and death. We are only temporary travelers in this short-lived world. If we care only about the blessing of living a long physical life and place all our hope in this present life, we fail to consider that the earth was cursed because of human sin. Nothing in this world can last forever. Even our physical bodies, like temporary tents, will eventually be taken down and return to dust. Therefore, we should place our hope in eternal life.
The length of our lives is in God’s hands. The days God gives us on earth are days He has prepared for us to find our way back to our heavenly home. God gives us the opportunity to turn back to Him, not to lose ourselves in pleasure or become attached to the world.
When sickness comes, when the body gradually grows old, when a sudden storm enters our lives, or even when God’s discipline comes upon us, those who are absorbed in worldly happiness may suddenly fall into a deep valley. This is because the One who can truly protect our lives and everything we possess is not ourselves, but the one true God who created heaven, earth, and all things.
Therefore, what we should pursue is not how long our physical lives will last, but how we can receive eternal life. Do not allow your short physical life to end on earth, only to face eternal death afterward.
May you draw closer to God, receive wisdom, hold firmly to His unchanging promises, pursue eternal life, and live in a way that pleases Him. Our days on earth are limited, and we are only strangers and travelers in this world. We should turn our eyes toward the God of heaven. Our true support is not ourselves, nor anything in this temporary and perishable world, but God and His guidance.
Everyone’s physical body will eventually die. Yet although we were once dead in sin, through the redemption of the Lord Jesus, we have received new life and have been given the hope of eternity once again.
In this life, we should hold firmly to our faith, pursue holiness, and walk with the Lord. When these short days of hardship and sorrow have passed, we may enter eternal life with a life that has received God’s grace. This is the most beautiful blessing God gives us.
May you be like Enoch, holding firmly to your faith and staying away from sin. Walk closely with the Lord each day, with your heart united with His. Obey the Lord Jesus with a devoted heart, receive His teaching through the Bible, pray to Him often, and remain in a close relationship with Him until the day you see Him face to face.

By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him:
for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
But without faith it is impossible to please him:

and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

and were persuaded of them, and embraced them,
and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out,
they might have had opportunity to have returned.
But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly:
wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God:
for he hath prepared for them a city.
