(2026.04.28.  The Encouragement of the Holy Spirit)

A man shall leave his parents and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. This statement has a deeper spiritual meaning. Because Adam, our ancestor, sinned, all people were brought under the power of sin, and the wages of sin is death. In order to save sinners in this world, God left the glory of heaven and became flesh. He emptied Himself, took the form of a servant, became like a man, and bore the punishment that people deserved because of sin. He died on the cross in our place.

Likewise, people should leave behind the old self that is born of the flesh and belongs to the sinful nature. They should empty themselves, deny themselves, put off the old self, and remove all unrighteousness and sin that come from the world. They should follow the example of the Lord Jesus, be renewed, walk toward holiness, no longer live according to the flesh, but become spiritual people who are united with the Lord. Through the salvation of the Lord Jesus, people receive the hope of entering eternal life.

In the beginning, God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed the breath of life into his nostrils, and man became a living soul. People live because of the life God has given them. Since there is a spirit within them, the real person is the inner person. One day, the body will return to dust, and the body is only a temporary tent in which we live.

If a person’s spirit is not connected to the Lord, there is no eternal life. Only through the precious blood of the Lord Jesus can a person’s uncleanness be washed away, allowing a life that was once dead in sin to live again, walk on the path of righteousness, and one day enter the holy kingdom of heaven.

A person’s heart must leave this corrupt world and separate itself from sin. If a person does not leave the world and continues living in sin, remaining unclean, he cannot be joined to the holy Lord Jesus, become one with Him in spirit, or share in God’s grace. His life remains in sin, and in the end he cannot inherit eternal life.

People should leave behind their former sinful way of life, which is displeasing to God, and enter the rich and blessed place that God has prepared. In the beginning, God gave mankind abundant fruits and vegetables for food, springs of living water, birds in the sky, fish in the sea, and every kind of living creature on the earth, and He gave people authority to care for them. People freely received all these provisions from God.

Today, God’s love has not changed. As long as people leave sin behind, reject corruption, remove the desires and greed that easily entangle them, break free from the values of this world, and cast away hearts that do not fear God, they can enter the abundant place God has prepared for them.

The Lord is our spiritual husband, and people are like His bride. Therefore, we should remain faithful to the Lord, love Him wholeheartedly, and be united with Him as one. The Lord Jesus is the Head who leads His people to walk daily in His will, enjoying true freedom and God’s abundant grace.

In this way, people can be prepared like a bride beautifully dressed for her wedding, becoming God’s children without blemish, waiting for the return of the Lord Jesus, and entering His holy and glorious kingdom.

Scripture

Genesis
Chapter 2 Verse 24

Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

1 Corinthians
Chapter 6 Verses 15-20

Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.

But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Psalms
Chapter 51 Verses 10-12, 14-15

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.

O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.

John
Chapter 14 Verses 2-3, 6

In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Revelation
Chapter 19 Verses 7-9

Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
