(April 16, 2026 · The Encouragement of the Holy Spirit)
No one can escape the Day of Judgment; everyone must face God’s judgment.
No matter what position a person holds on earth, how much power they have, how much wealth they possess, or how famous they may be, none of these things can exempt them from judgment. None of these things can save their soul. Before God, all people are the same. No matter what race they belong to, what nation they come from, or where they live in the world, all must face judgment. For heaven and earth will pass away, and every soul will go to the place where it belongs.
When the time of judgment comes, the books will be opened. These books contain a record of everything a person has done and serve as the basis for judgment. Judgment belongs to God. While living on earth, people should seek the truth, come to know and understand God, and learn what God calls righteous and what He declares to be unrighteous. They should pursue righteousness and live a godly life according to God’s righteous standards. Every day on earth, people should be careful with their words and actions. They should seek to be filled with the Holy Spirit, guard their thoughts and intentions, stay away from the world, stay away from the things that displease God and stir up His wrath, and have no part in sin. They should also pursue holiness. For another book will be opened, which is the Book of Life. If anyone’s name is not found written in the Book of Life, they will be thrown into the lake of fire.
Sinners face two deaths. This is spoken from a spiritual perspective. Because Adam, the first man, sinned, sin entered the world, and all people became trapped under sin. Therefore, because of sin, every person is born in sin. If a person is not connected to the life of the Lord and their sins have not been forgiven, their soul remains separated from God, who gives life, and is spiritually dead. After the physical body dies and returns to dust, everyone must face judgment. If, during their earthly life, a person does not repent before the Lord, does not remove sin, and continues living in sin, they will face the second death. The second death is eternal death. Everyone whose name is not written in the Book of Life will be thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur together with the devil, the beast, and the false prophet, where they will suffer forever.
When a person is born, although their physical body is alive, their spiritual life has already experienced the first death. God continually gives people opportunities and shows mercy, calling them to repent of their sins. He has proclaimed the gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven to all nations so that people may understand His truth and walk in His ways, allowing them to repent while they are still living on earth and no longer have any part in sin. God Himself became flesh to save sinners. Through the precious blood of the Lord Jesus, He washes away people’s sins. People must also do their part and work out their salvation, being willing to die and be buried with the Lord, putting off the old self and all unrighteousness. They should seek to receive the Holy Spirit, allow the Holy Spirit to dwell within them, pray to be filled with the Holy Spirit, and submit to the Spirit’s guidance. In this way, their lives are renewed, they become new creations in the Lord, are raised with Him, united with Him in the likeness of His resurrection, and become holy citizens of God’s Kingdom. Therefore, blessed are those who have a part in the first resurrection, for they have been delivered from sin. In the future, they will be able to stand before God’s judgment without fear, and the second death will have no power over them. All who belong to God, who hold firmly to the truth, obey the Lord’s commandments, and continue following the Lord Jesus to the end will have their names written in the Book of Life and will escape the second death.
The end of this earthly life is not the true end. It is a waiting for judgment. At that time, the sea, death, and Hades will give up the dead that are in them. Everyone must face judgment and will be repaid according to what they have done. These are things that you should know.
Scripture
Psalms
Chapter 51 Verses 2-5
Wash me throughly from mine iniquity,
and cleanse me from my sin.
For I acknowledge my transgressions:
and my sin is ever before me.
Against thee, thee only, have I sinned,
and done this evil in thy sight:
that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest,
and be clear when thou judgest.
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity;
and in sin did my mother conceive me.
Ezekiel
Chapter 18 Verses 30-32
Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.
Revelation
Chapter 20 Verses 12-15
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God;
and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life:
and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
And the sea gave up the dead which were in it;
and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them:
and they were judged every man according to their works.
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire.
This is the second death.
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
