(2025.12.29 The Encouragement of the Holy Spirit)

Before the foundation of the world, God had already prepared salvation. The Lord Jesus Christ has completed the work of redemption and now sits on the great throne in heaven, above all things, ruling over everything.

Since we have received redemption through the Lord’s mercy and grace, and since we have a great High Priest—Jesus Christ Himself—as our strongest support, we ought to hold firmly to this priceless grace. We confess the Lord with our mouths and believe in Him with our hearts. We must set our hearts firmly, declare that our decision to follow Jesus will not change, and refuse to turn back. Our hearts must not turn toward the world, be shaken by the world, betray the covenant we have made with God, or allow our lives to fall into death because of sin. We must hold fast to God’s true word, press straight toward the goal of the heavenly kingdom and eternal life, and never loosen our grip until our earthly life comes to an end.

In daily life, we may encounter storms and sudden changes in circumstances. You may be going through hardship right now, but do not be afraid, do not worry, and do not allow doubt toward God to take root in your heart, for a doubting heart receives nothing from the Lord. Those who are in the Lord must understand that the sufferings of life are only temporary. The lessons the Lord assigns to each person in this world are different, but whatever they are, they are meant to bring forth new life and lead people to eternal life. Therefore, we must strive for this new life and press forward courageously. It is like a woman in labor: the pain is temporary, but after the child is born, the joy is multiplied because a new life has come forth—a life full of hope, beauty, and glory.

God became flesh and came into the world. The Lord Jesus understands human weakness because He Himself was tempted by the devil while on earth, yet He did not sin. Therefore, we must not use our weakness as an excuse, for the Lord Jesus has personally shown that by obeying God, we can stay away from sin; by living according to God’s teaching, we can overcome Satan’s temptations; and by following the Lord’s will, we will see all that God intends to accomplish. So we should trust the Lord with a pure and simple heart, draw near to Him continually, and let His word comfort, support, and help us. Remember how our ancestors suffered in Egypt—yet they believed in God, relied on Him, and cried out for His help, and were therefore delivered, freed from their suffering and heavy burdens. In the same way, you must now entrust the desires of your heart to God with simple faith and complete the path you are meant to walk in this life.

However, since you have been redeemed, do not turn back. Do not imitate the sins and disobedient hearts of the ancestors. When difficulties arise, do not choose to complain, retreat, waver in faith, or long to return to the world, causing spiritual loss. If one continues to harden the heart, refuses to repent, and rebels against God, that person will lose the eternal blessing that comes from God. In the end, such a life will fall into emptiness, conclude in sighing, and face eternal punishment in the age to come. This is a path that must never be taken.

Scripture

Ephesians

Chapter 1 Verses 3–5

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world,

that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself,

according to the good pleasure of his will.”

Hebrews

Chapter 4 Verses 14–16

“Seeing then that we have a great high priest,

that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God,

let us hold fast our profession.

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities;

but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace,

that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

Hebrews

Chapter 10 Verses 36–39

“For ye have need of patience,

that, after ye have done the will of God,

ye might receive the promise.

For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

Now the just shall live by faith:

but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition;

but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.”

2 Timothy

Chapter 4 Verses 7–8

“I have fought a good fight,

I have finished my course,

I have kept the faith:

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness,

which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day:

and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”
