(Oct. 1, 2025 – The Encouragement of the Holy Spirit)

What you receive and enjoy today all comes from the gifts and protection that come from above.

Look: the sun, the moon, and the stars shine for you; the rain falls to water the earth so you may have abundant harvests; the fish in the sea, the birds of the sky, and the animals on the land are placed under your care. Everything you enjoy comes from the God who created all things.

And it is the same with the work of your hands.

When you labor and gain wealth, storing up surplus in your storehouses, that abundance is given by my power—it is I who preserve you and cause you to have more than enough.

When you have wisdom to do every good work, it is I who give you love and faith.

When you have eloquence in preaching and encouraging others, speaking words of truth to testify to the grace of salvation, that is my gift to you.

When you preach the gospel and see fruit in your labor, bringing people to me, it is the Spirit who guides and leads; it is my choice and my gift to you, giving you the opportunity to work.

All strength and grace come from God, who richly gives them to you. You must rely on God’s mighty power.

And because you have received riches from God, you are able to give to the weak and the poor so that they will not lack.

The giver, seeing that their own abundance comes from God, has the ability to give and will be filled with thanksgiving to God.

The one who receives, because of the love shown to them, also sees God’s mercy and grace, and likewise will give thanks to God.

In this way, grace increases through many people, as more people receive God’s grace and give thanks, and all glory is given to the Father in heaven.

Therefore, when you have abundance in your hands and are able to work, understand that it all comes from God’s reward and power.

If there is a willing heart to give, it pleases God, and grace will increase all the more, so that you will always have enough and be enriched in everything.

The results of your labor will follow you, and the fruits of righteousness that you bear will last forever.

Scripture

Genesis

Chapter 1 Verses 28-30

“And God blessed them. And God said to them,

‘Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it,

and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens

and over every living thing that moves on the earth.’

And God said,

‘Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth,

and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food.

And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens

and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life,

I have given every green plant for food.’

And it was so.”

2 Corinthians

Chapter 9 Verses 8, 10-11

“And God is able to make all grace abound to you,

so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times,

you may abound in every good work.

He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food

will supply and multiply your seed for sowing

and increase the harvest of your righteousness.

You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way,

which through us will produce thanksgiving to God.”

Acts

Chapter 20 Verse 35

“In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way

we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus,

how he himself said,

‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

2 Corinthians

Chapter 9 Verse 15

“Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift!”
