(2026.03.18. The Encouragement of the Holy Spirit)
The days of this world are short, and there will be difficulties and hardships; when you go through suffering, troubles, and trials, do not be afraid.
First examine yourself, pray and entrust everything to God, seek to understand what you are going through, and discern God’s will. If necessary, be willing to endure the sorrow and grief that come with various trials for a time, as a reminder to awaken your faith. If you are being disciplined because of sin, wake up quickly and repent, and use this to see whether your faith has become lukewarm. If you have been stained by impurity, cleanse yourself; if there are ungodly thoughts in your heart, turn away from evil and return to God. For we are meant to receive salvation. Let the faith within your heart be stirred up again like a fire. Put off the old self that is unclean, remove every thought and behavior that does not align with God’s will, so that your life may be renewed and return again to the Lord.
If you suffer for righteousness, endure patiently; for the days of hardship you go through are limited and temporary, and everything will pass. In the midst of difficulty, hold on to your faith and rely on the Lord. The Lord is able to deliver you from distress, bring peace to your heart, and give freedom to your soul.
Even in trials, continue to hold firm in faith, so that your soul may be strengthened and your faith may become strong. After passing through waters and fire, the Lord will lead you into a place of abundance, where you will enjoy the joy that comes from Him.
No matter what situation you are in, rely on the Lord and stand firm; for these refinements can purify a person, making them holy and complete, preparing them to enter the eternal kingdom of heaven.
If you can take hold of the lessons the Lord has entrusted to you, your life will be renewed. You will turn away from your old worldly way of living, change your direction, and walk on the path that leads to the kingdom of heaven. Your heart will become still, allowing you to reflect on and examine your faith, no longer being stirred or disturbed by the world, no longer focusing on earthly things. Instead, your heart and vision will turn toward the kingdom of heaven, and you will labor for the things of the Lord.
Be willing to learn to rely on the Lord, to rebuild your relationship with Him. Be willing to learn obedience, to surrender authority to God, to be shaped by the Lord, becoming a vessel fit for use, and a vessel of honor. Then you will be able to do all kinds of good works according to the Lord’s will and accomplish what He desires.
In this way, within the limited time you have, you will use your precious time for God’s work, striving to receive the eternal life He has promised. You will focus on storing up treasures in heaven, no longer valuing earthly treasures. Your life, both inwardly and outwardly, will become a true expression of a Christian—wearing holy white garments, walking with the Lord, and working together with Him.
You will shine for the Lord in this world, bearing witness through your life to God’s love and power, so that the gospel may spread widely. People will see the hope of the kingdom of heaven, be moved to seek eternal life, hold firm to the faith, and the number of God’s people will increase daily, bringing glory to His name.
Scripture
Lamentations
Chapter 3 Verses 19-27, 31-33
“Remembering mine affliction and my misery,
the wormwood and the gall.
My soul hath them still in remembrance,
and is humbled in me.
This I recall to my mind,
therefore have I hope.
It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed,
because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning:
great is thy faithfulness.
The LORD is my portion, saith my soul;
therefore will I hope in him.
The LORD is good unto them that wait for him,
to the soul that seeketh him.
It is good that a man should both hope
and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
It is good for a man
that he bear the yoke in his youth.
For the Lord will not cast off for ever:
But though he cause grief,
yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.
For he doth not afflict willingly
nor grieve the children of men.”
Isaiah
Chapter 48 Verses 8-10
“Yea, thou heardest not;
yea, thou knewest not;
yea, from that time that thine ear was not opened:
for I knew that thou wouldest deal very treacherously,
and wast called a transgressor from the womb.
For my name’s sake will I defer mine anger,
and for my praise will I refrain for thee,
that I cut thee not off.
Behold, I have refined thee,
but not with silver;
I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.”
1 Peter
Chapter 1 Verses 5-7
“Who are kept by the power of God through faith
unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Wherein ye greatly rejoice,
though now for a season, if need be,
ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
That the trial of your faith,
being much more precious than of gold that perisheth,
though it be tried with fire,
might be found unto praise and honour and glory
at the appearing of Jesus Christ.”
Psalm
Chapter 66 Verses 10-12
“For thou, O God, hast proved us:
thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.
Thou broughtest us into the net;
thou laidst affliction upon our loins.
Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads;
we went through fire and through water:
but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.”
