1. In the name of the Lord Jesus

The believers in the Ephesian church understood that John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance and could not forgive sins, so they were “baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus” (Acts 19:5). The believers in Samaria did not ask for the presence of the Holy Spirit, “they were baptized only in the name of the Lord Jesus” (Acts 8:16).
