True Blessing Begins with a Changed Life: God Is My Everlasting Blessing

To receive God’s blessings, we must begin with a change in our lives.

As children of God, we must change from being people who always want to take and receive, who are self-centered, focused only on ourselves, and rely on ourselves in everything we do. Instead, we should become willing to come humbly before God, admit our limitations and weaknesses, and stop focusing only on ourselves. We should look to our loving, merciful, and faithful God, be willing to obey the Lord’s leading, and follow the path He shows us.

If we examine ourselves often, we will become more humble. We will see our own weaknesses and limitations, recognize that the nature of our old self still remains within us, and see the areas where we still fall short of God’s glory. Then we will understand how unworthy we are and treasure God’s grace even more. In this way, whenever we fellowship with God and pray, we will no longer only ask Him for earthly blessings, benefits in this life, or the things we desire. Instead, we will first examine our hearts and see whether we are walking according to God’s will.

When we are willing to repent before God, accept His light and correction, and rely on His mercy to cleanse us, and when we are willing to let go of ourselves, empty ourselves, and allow God to rule over our lives, our lives will gradually be renewed. We will leave behind the ways of our old self and become new creations.

Victory in life does not mean gaining more things in this world, nor does it mean being better than others in everything. True victory is overcoming our own weaknesses and the nature of our old self. Through the training we receive as God stays with us and leads us, we can rely on the Lord to stand firm, hold firmly to the truth, and live in a way that pleases God.

Because of the Lord’s love, our lives can be changed. Because our lives are renewed, we can sing aloud with hearts full of joy. The blessings we receive are not temporary benefits on earth, but everlasting blessings from God that nothing in this world can replace.

Strive to become someone whose life is continually renewed in the Lord and receive the blessings of heaven. As children of God pursue holiness in the Lord, God’s grace and blessings will always be with them.

Chapter 51 Verses 1-12, 14-17, 19

Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness:
according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
Wash me throughly from mine iniquity,
and cleanse me from my sin.
For I acknowledge my transgressions:
and my sin is ever before me.
Against thee, thee only, have I sinned,
and done this evil in thy sight:
that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest,
and be clear when thou judgest.
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity;
and in sin did my mother conceive me.
Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts:
and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean:

with burnt offering and whole burnt offering:
then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.

Chapter 73 Verses 24-26

Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel,
and afterward receive me to glory.
Whom have I in heaven but thee?
and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.
My flesh and my heart faileth:
but God is the strength of my heart,
and my portion for ever.

Kneel with humility

Close your eyes to concentrate.

The first sentence should begin by saying, “In the name of the  Lord Jesus  I pray.”

Then

Praise the Lord by saying, “Hallelujah!”“Praise the Lord Jesus!”

Spend time to speak with God from your heart and ask Him to fill you with the Holy Spirit.

Conclude your prayer with, “Amen.”
