(2025.09.02 The Encouragement of the Holy Spirit)

In my house, there must not be strife, hatred, or quarrels among you, for these come from the flesh and are the works of the devil.

You all belong to one body, so why strike yourself? Why curse yourself? Such things are unrighteous. If your right hand is sick, would you cut it off? If one eye cannot see clearly, would you gouge it out?

Only when the whole body is healthy can you use your precious time, each fulfilling your role according to the gifts you have received, doing all kinds of good works—not only glorifying my name but also bringing benefit to many. Shouldn’t you live this way?

Brothers and sisters, always bear with one another in all things, be patient, forgive, and rather yield, even suffer loss, but never wrong others or take away their benefits.

Make yourself one who puts an end to sin, remembered by me, able to stand firm before me.

Do not measure others with a scale. Always first see your own weakness, reflect on yourself, see the truth, and then, with love, encourage one another, reconcile with each other, and guard your own heart so that you may be clean.

If anyone still refuses to let go of resentment and will not forgive, then lay it down. Do not let the burden of sin weigh you down. Be reconciled with others first before coming to me in prayer, so that I will hear your prayer—for I am the God who hears the prayers of the righteous.

Reconciliation must also be timely, lest over time bitterness, complaint, anger, and hatred grow in one or both sides. Then sin will be upon you, righteousness will be lacking, and in the day of judgment you will not be able to stand.

Scripture

1 Corinthians

Chapter 6 Verses 5-9

“I say this to your shame. Can it be that there is no one among you wise enough

to settle a dispute between the brothers,

but brother goes to law against brother,

and that before unbelievers?

To have lawsuits at all with one another is already a defeat for you.

Why not rather suffer wrong? Why not rather be defrauded?

But you yourselves wrong and defraud—even your own brothers!

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God?”

Matthew

Chapter 7 Verses 1-3, 5

“Judge not, that you be not judged.

For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged,

and with the measure you use it will be measured to you.

Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye,

but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?

… You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye,

and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.”

Matthew

Chapter 5 Verses 23-25

“So if you are offering your gift at the altar

and there remember that your brother has something against you,

leave your gift there before the altar and go.

First be reconciled to your brother,

and then come and offer your gift.

Come to terms quickly with your accuser while you are going with him to court,

lest your accuser hand you over to the judge,

and the judge to the guard, and you be put in prison.”

Proverbs

Chapter 15 Verse 29

“The Lord is far from the wicked,

but he hears the prayer of the righteous.”
